Why I Use Stitch Fix

As a newly-engaged bride, I know you have a lot on your plate. From securing the venue to finding the perfect wedding singer (hint, hint, it's me!), who has time to go shopping for dresses for all of those wedding related activities you have to go to? Enter Stitch Fix!

Stitch Fix is an amazing company. As Stitch Fix describes themselves on their website: clothing and accessories hand-selected by a personal stylist, delivered to your door. That's right, delivered to your door!! You don't even have to leave the house! Here is what you do:

1. Fill out a style profile on their website. Be specific. The more specific you are, the better your stylist can figure out what kind of clothing will be your style.

2. Schedule a fix. You can receive a fix every month, every few months, whatever you decide. The stitch will arrive at your doorstep on (or before) the day you schedule it. Inside, there will be 5 pieces.

A lovely riot of colors greeted me upon opening my latest fix!

3. Try everything on! Seriously, even if you think it doesn't look cute in the box, you could fall in love with it when you put it on. Or vice versa.

4. Send back any piece that you do not want in the pre-paid envelope they send with your fix. You only pay for what you keep! However, remember that if you keep all 5 pieces, you get a 25% discount on the entire box.

Here are some of the pieces I received in my last fix:

I got these great high-waisted pants and beautiful creamsicle blouse for work! Both keepers!

I loved this dress!! Such a fun color and print! Also a keeper!

I felt like this blouse ended up looking kind of frumpy on me. Back in the mail it went!

While I loved the design of this blouse, it was WAY too small. Back in the mail for this one too!

My stylist, Lindsay, sent a sweet note and great suggestions on the style cards. I always keep these!

Some tips to get the most out of your fix:

  • Fill out the style profile thoroughly. Be specific. Tell them what you like. They do read it, I promise!
  • Create a Pinterest board for your stylist. This will help her to see examples of what you like. Here is a link to my Stitch Fix Pinterest board
  • When you pay, write in the comment box for each item. Tell them why you loved a particular piece, or why you hated it. This will help them to choose better pieces for your next fix.
  • If you have a specific event coming up (cough, cough, engagement shots, bachelorette party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, cough, cough), tell them! There is a place to send a note to your stylist when you schedule your next fix. Request specific things. I have had great luck with doing this.

If you are interested in trying out Stitch Fix for yourself, here is a link to get you started. It is an amazing way to find new pieces for your wedding, but also for work, play and date nights! It is super easy, and you will find pieces you might not otherwise. Happy shopping my beautiful brides!

Where To Buy Wedding Clothes in Nashville

It's wedding season! While attending weddings is fun, it brings about the age-old question of, "What should I wear?". If you are the bride, there are even more occasions to dress up for: bridal showers, bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, etc. Of course, you want to look great at each event, but you might not be sure where to look for multiple cute, unique dresses...

Luckily for you, I have done the research for you! I went around the greater Nashville area in search of the best boutiques to supply all of your wedding clothing desires. These 5 shops have everything you need: unique dresses, shoes, jewelry, and any other accessories you might want. Here are my picks for the best, wedding-friendly boutiques in Nashville!

Philanthropy

Located in historic, downtown Franklin, Philanthropy has super cute dresses, but also has an amazing premise. A portion of every purchase that you make goes back to charity. In the past 7 years, Philanthropy has raised over $500,000 for both local and worldwide charities. So, as you are perusing the racks filled to bursting with unique, fashion-forward dresses, skirts, tops and pants, just know that you are helping someone, somewhere with your purchase. That is a great feeling!

You can check out Philanthropy's website here, and their Facebook page here

Jondie

Also located in downtown Franklin, Jondie is best known for their incredible jewelry, but also has a great collection of dresses. The owner, Rebecca, launched her jewelry line, Mimi and Dottie, in the fall of 2008, and Jondie soon after. Her love of semi-precious stones and antique jewelry is evident in the unique and beautiful (not to mention affordable) jewelry throughout the store. Plus, the clothing they sell is the perfect compliment to all of the amazing jewelry, so you won't want to pass up on a visit!

You can check out Jondie's website here, and their Facebook page here!

Lizard Thicket

A little further down the road in Cool Springs, Lizard Thicket is a trendy little boutique whose stock changes weekly. Established in 1981, Lizard Thicket prides themselves on offering the latest styles at affordable prices, as well as their constantly changing stock. This means that your dress will be unique and beautiful, just like you! You are almost guaranteed to come out of this store with shopping bag in hand.

Affordable and unique clothing, as well as excellent service, is Blush's mission, and I must say they really do deliver. The owner, Linda, has a goal when choosing clothing for her boutique: to provide a great selection of unique items for any woman, regardless of shape or size. Their eclectic variety of dresses, jewelry, shoes and other accessories make it easy to find something that will make you feel beautiful.
